How to make a stand out Ganapathy Dia

To make clay.....

Take corn flour and fevicol 1:1 in a nonstick or aluminium vesell. Add 1 TSP oil and 1 TSP of vinegar.

Keep the vessel on the stove on low flame and keep stirring till it comes to mashed potato consistency.

Remove the clay from the vessel and keep it on a plastic sheet. Apply oil in your hand and knead it nicely to get a soft clay. Store it in a air tight container.

Take small ball of clay and roll it into thin layer

Cut the clay into a rectangle shape. You can choose any shape you want. (Say square or circle or oval).

Trace your ganesha outline on the clay using sketch pen.

Cut the clay along the outline using China knife. You can also use ballpoint pen to remove the cut clay.

The cutting should Be 1mm wide at least to get a good outline. Let the slab dry for two days at least.

Mix Pop and fevicol in the ratio 1:1 and put into a flat basin of any shape you want. (Cover the basin with plastic sheet so that the finished piece will come out easily).

Before the pop gets dried stick the finished ganesha slab perpendicularly.

After it dries a day or two, color it first with black.

Then color the whole piece with golden color.
Your piece is ready to light the lamp.

Place a small candel or a small Diya in the centre to give a very good shadow.
